Growing up in the small town of Shelby, Michigan, Stephanie didn’t really get a good look at the world until she moved to Kalamazoo in the fall of 2004. She quickly realized there was more to the world than what was in her small town. Stephanie found her place in her new community by volunteering and sharing her smiling face and enthusiasm with those in need.
Stephanie discovered Prevention Works while attending a conference and immediately fell in love with their mission and programs. Her involvement began as a part-time program staff member before taking on the role of Program Coordinator for Peer POWER. One of her favorite parts of her job is watching the development of the program attendees and program staff. Stephanie is motivated by the positive changes and choices she helps others make.
When not working, you can find Stephanie cheering on her favorite sport teams on TV or in person. She enjoys singing karaoke (usually suggesting a Hanson or Spice Girls song) and is always on a mission to find the best taco; must be authentic Mexican style!
