Prevention Works develops and implements innovative prevention programs and strategies that give youth and families tools to make healthy decisions. Major programs address substance abuse prevention, violence prevention, social emotional development, family life skills, parenting, and adolescent health. Our programs are designed to be both educational and engaging. Participants can expect to build their knowledge and skills through the use of experiential learning activities, team building, role plays, group discussion, goal setting and behavior modification strategies. All prevention programs are led by one or more individuals on our Health Empowerment Team: highly trained facilitators from a diverse range of ages, gender, race and ethnicity. Each program is evaluated to ensure program effectiveness and fidelity. With over 12 programs available, schools and organizations can expect to find the right program to fit their individual needs. Programs vary in topic, age range, length of session, number of sessions and group size.
