Peer POWER ATOD is an after school program for youth between the ages of 9-13. The program is 12 sessions. It is facilitated by one adult Outreach Worker and two high school aged Peer Educators, who are all highly trained in the program and working with youth. The Peer Education approach is an effective way to teach young people about making healthy decision. This program uses interactive games and group discussion to demonstrate the risks involved with using drugs and alcohol. Lessons include: alcohol, tobacco, inhalants, marijuana, the media, and peer pressure. Youth learn skills to resist peer pressure and make healthy decisions.
