In her junior year of high school, Katie recalls completing a personality test that indicated she should pursue a "career" in volunteerism. She laughed, but knew this was a result of her passion for serving the community and high empathy for others. After receiving a degree in Community Health Education from WMU, Katie immediately found her professional "home" working as a Health Educator for Prevention Works. In this role she enjoys developing programs and strategies that educate and empower community youth to make healthy choices and reach their full potential. She is determined to make Kalamazoo a place where our youth do not just live, they thrive. When she is not at Prevention Works, Katie can usually be found planning weekend getaways, playing board games, fishing or listening to comedy radio. What "tool" helps you get the job done?
