Catherine Lemus
Project Assistant |
Catherine has always had a love for education and the community. While in high school, she participated as a mentor through Big Brothers Big Sisters and loved building relationships with younger students. She also was an assistant coach with Girls on the Run of Greater Kalamazoo after being a participant for three years and loved how she was able to encourage girls to never stop dreaming.
As a student at Western Michigan University, Catherine has continued to be involved in the Kalamazoo community. She currently mentors students at Linden Grove Middle school and is a frequent visitor of Bronson Children's Hospital, dressed as popular Disney character Moana. Catherine is ecstatic to be joining the Prevention Works team, assisting Sara Rising, and looks forward to expanding her knowledge about fundraising, the non-profit sector, and the health of community members. When not in the classroom or office, Catherine can be found anywhere out in the sun. While Michigan winters can get rough, she has been able to explore the many greenhouses in Kalamazoo and enjoys reading among the flowers." What "tool" helps you get the job done?
