Ashley comes to the world of prevention from a crazy, winding path. Growing up, she thought she would be (in this order): a teacher, a dolphin trainer, an actress, and a lawyer. In high school, she caught the political bug while studying with the Presidential Classroom program in DC, and then interning and volunteering with three political campaigns in college. While it was fun to meet The President, it wasn’t the life Ashley wanted. So, she embarked on several years of discovery – working in retail, the bridal industry, moving to Prague to teach English, and finally finding her career home in prevention, which she tried at the urging of a high school friend. Prevention is just the right amount of social, teaching, leading, and learning – so her skills from her wide-ranging job experiences will benefit her as the Task Force Coordinator for Prevention Works!
In her personal life, Ashley still has a deep love of politics and debate. During the summers, you can find her on her boat in South Haven or paddle boarding Fisher Lake in Three Rivers. She loves to cook vegetarian meals, read books of no intellectual value, work out, watch college football (GO BUCKS!), and spend time with her fur babies CB (the cat) and Moose (the dog), Bell (the boy cat), and her husband, Bret. What "tool" helps you get the job done?
