Born and raised in Kalamazoo, Jessica has always had a passion for community. Throughout her life experiences, she became highly aware of many challenges that youth and families face and the importance of a supportive community.
Jessica holds a wide range of interests. She started volunteering in high school and tutored peers and younger students in math, reading, and art projects. Jessica was in the first graduating class to receive the Kalamazoo Promise and attended Western Michigan University where she dual majored in Biology and Spanish. During college, Jessica volunteered with Habitat for Humanity, worked on various environmental projects, and became a Youth Facilitator for the Family Programs at Prevention Works. Jessica also earned her Emergency Medical Technician certification from Kalamazoo Valley Community College. After college, Jessica used her Biology degree at Pfizer and WMU but her love to serve youth and families never faded. She is now making herself at home in the Prevention Works office with the Programming Team!
When not at work, Jessica can be found dancing, reading, or adventuring with her “spotted monster”, Florian (Dalmatian).
