Holly Anderson landed here in Michigan from California, by way of Hawaii.
"WHAT?? You moved here from HAWAII??"*
Yes, yes she did.
"Who does THAT??"*
*(both of these are questions frequently asked, btw...you're probably asking them right now...)
Well, someone in love is who. Having discovered that her then-fiancée was from Kalamazoo, and that a move back to the mainland was eventual, they moved, are married, and "ta da(!)" here she is.
Anyway, some background: back in Hawaii Holly was part of the campaign team that passed Marriage Equality in 2013, helping secure marriage rights for same-sex couples within that state. Later, SCOTUS made the ruling across the US. She's worked at the Hawaii State Legislature, and for the State of Hawaii, is an artist, graphic designer, writer, cook and general creative peep. She has always had a passion for justice, a more broad vision of the world, and an ability to connect and create. These things were helpful in Hawaii, and in her life, and are helpful here at Prevention Works, too. She's a Project Manager here - working on projects for the same justice, broad vision, and connectivity Prevention Works keeps expanding into.
So... long story longer, sometimes it's not where you are (Hawaii? Yes, lovely, beautiful, magical...Michigan roads? Not-so-magical), but what you're doing and how you are helping and what/who you love. Hawaii or Michigan, campaigns or non-profits: justice is justice; help is help; connection is connection...and love is love is love.
What "tool" helps you get the job done?
